Basement Bhangra Beyond Saturday July 20: FAQs and Afterparty
Hi Fam,
After the last message I lost some subscribers b/c I opened my note with- firstly, we continue to honor the people of the struggle for a free Palestine. I stand by that and I am committed to supporting those efforts and continue to do what I do to create space and sound for joy.
The last few weeks were tremendous. The silent discos at Lincoln Center were off the hook. Last Saturday over 2500 donned headphones and grooved under the giant disco ball. And at the other all the nights some moved not so silently as Rajuju, Offering Rain, DJ Ashu, and DJ Raat ki Rani played songs the crowd loved and sang along to.
But let's get to our our biggest event of the year Basement Bhangra Beyond w/ Priya Ragu, Lady Pista, Ami Dang, Kala Sher, and more at SummerStage in Flushing Meadow Corona Park on July 20 from 5pm-9pm plus an afterparty (21+) with the crew and NYC Debut of Priyanka aka the Pri Pri at Elsewhere from 10:30p-3am. Be sure to grab a Basement Bhangra t-shirt and new hats at the show. Check out the FAQ for more info.

Why is this called Basement Bhangra Beyond? I thought DJ Rekha retired and Basement Bhangra was done.
DJ Rekha never stopped DJing and travels all over the world to spin. Basement Bhangra, the monthly club night, ended after 20 years in 2017. Now we hold an annual all-ages free event imbuing the vibes of the iconic club night in a public park. DJ Rekha continues to showcase amazing talent that goes BEYOND to transcend sonic boundaries.
Post SummerStage Basement Bhangra Beyond Afterparty with DJ Priyanka aka the Pri Pri, DJ Ushka and surprise guests. (Note the afterparty venue is 21+). Get your tickets here.
See you on Saturday.
